Privacy Policy

AudioTale has not been released yet. This policy describes how the app will handle your data and takes effect on the day it is published to the App Store. It is published here in advance so you can read it before you ever install the app.

AudioTale is a reading and audiobook app developed by LifeLayer Apps. It works differently from our other apps: because it rebuilds the files you import into structured books and keeps your place in sync across your devices, some of your data is processed and stored on servers we run. This policy explains exactly which parts.

1.Your account

AudioTale requires an account so that your library belongs to you and follows you between devices.

  • Signing in. You sign in with Sign in with Apple or with Google. We receive the account identifier the provider gives us, and your email address where you allow it to be shared. We use these only to recognise which library is yours and to contact you about your account. We never receive your Apple or Google password.
  • Staying signed in. After signing in, your device holds a session token in its own secure storage — the Keychain on iPhone and iPad, the Keystore on Android. It expires if unused, and signing out removes it.

2.Books you import

  • The files themselves. When you import a PDF or EPUB, the file is sent to our servers, where it is analysed and rebuilt into a structured book. The processed book is stored against your account so it can be opened on any device you sign in on.
  • What you do in a book. Your reading position, highlights, saved excerpts and quotes, and any rating or review you write are stored with your account so they are there on your next device.
  • Processing. Analysis runs on infrastructure operated by LifeLayer Apps. The contents of your books are not sent to any outside AI service, and are not used to train anything.

3.What stays on your device

A copy of your library, your books and your reading position is kept on your device so the app works without a connection. App preferences such as language, theme and reading speed are stored on your device only.

4.Third-party services

If we add any further third-party service to AudioTale, this policy will be updated to name it before that version reaches the App Store.

5.Data we do not collect

  • We do not track your location.
  • We do not sell, share or transfer your personal data to third parties.
  • We do not use advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking.
  • We do not read your books for any purpose other than preparing them for you.

6.Deleting your data

You can delete a book at any time from your library, which removes it from your device and from our servers. To close your account and erase everything stored against it — books, positions, highlights and quotes — use the delete account option in the app’s settings, or write to us and we will do it for you.

7.Children’s privacy

AudioTale is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version always lives at this address, with the date at the top revised. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
